A family business with tradition since 1954

The Vogt family business began in 1954 with great dedication and ingenious ideas. It began with the sale of fish and self-developed sachets of lemon juice, the raw material for which came from the region around the city of Valencia.

Today, more than 50 years later, Valenzi holds a strong position in the international market. With flexibility, strong entrepreneurial instincts, and solid contacts worldwide, the company’s founder and his sons, Karl-Heinz and Klaus, have turned the family business into a modern company.

With its approximately 100 employees, Valenzi is today one of the region’s major employers. Experience, the most up-to-date expertise, high standards of quality, modern machinery, and dedicated employees continue to strengthen Valenzi‘s position as a market leader. Annual production of some 4 million kilograms of mushrooms, 2 million kilograms of fruit, and 700,000 kilograms of soup additions speaks for itself – not to mention the many awards honouring our various products and our certification to numerous national and international standards, all of which provide assurance of the high quality of our products.

Treats fresh from the forest.

Our extensive selection of wild-grown forest mushrooms offers a choice of international specialities. Chanterelles, porcini, bay boletes, and yellow boletus mushrooms are picked in selected woodlands and processed fresh from the harvest. Cultivated mushrooms such as button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, or sheathed woodtuft (Kuehneromyces mutabilis) are processed separately by variety or in varied assortments. Tasty mushroom combinations with various seasonings complement our extensive range of products. Our mushroom specialities are prepared for industrial consumers, the food services sector, and the retail trade and packed in glass jars or cans in quantities ranging from 100 ml to 4250 ml.

Valenzi products are tested for safety every step of the way – from producer to customer. We negotiate personally with the producers and suppliers and inspect the mushrooms for quality before they are harvested. Before we process mushrooms in our facilities, the raw goods undergo a rigorous pre-delivery inspection. Advanced technology and inspection to IFS standards provide a guarantee of tested quality that extends all the way to final delivery to the customer. Our global logistics network and long-term personal business contacts enable us to adjust to changing market situations with
flexibility and to maintain reliable delivery even in the event of poor harvests or other disasters.

Berries & Lingonberries

As specialists in wild berries, we supply our customers with a wide range of gourmet and wild lingonberries. At Valenzi the fruit are preserved – whether as a “choice selection”, unrefined, with pure sugar crystals, or as a preparation for the baked goods industry – by means of a natural and gentle process that both allows the fruit to retain its full flavour and meets the highest standards of hygiene. Seven tons of lingonberries are processed per hour in our advanced cooking facilities.
It goes without saying that the raw goods delivered to us from the forests of Scandinavia are subjected to the same rigorous inspection as those used in our other products. Wild and cultivated lingonberries are packed for industrial consumers, the food services sector, and the retail trade in a large variety of packaging sizes. Our customers may choose among single servings of 20 grams, various tins and glass jars up to 12.5 kg buckets.

In 1974 Valenzi became the first company to industrially produce custard royale (Eierstich) as a garnish for soups. This led over the years to the development of a wide variety of sophisticated soup additions prepared according to time-tested recipes. Custard royale and marrow, meat, and herb dumplings add refinement and character to soups and broths. Prepared ready-to-eat and cut to convenient sizes, these little delicacies can be enjoyed right away. These, too, are offered for industrial consumers, the food services sector, and the retail trade in package sizes ranging from 200g to 10kg.

All products, whether mushroom specialities or soup additions, can be removed from their packaging individually, making it easy to divide them into portions. For industrial customers we offer portion sizes up to 10 kg.
For the food services sector we have packaging sizes ranging from 1 kg to 2.5 kg and, for the retail trade, from 200 g to 450 g.

Dinner is ready!

Also very popular are our pre-cooked mushroom-based dishes. All dishes, whether prepared as sautéed mushrooms, risotto, or with pasta, are put together and flash frozen in special machines, making them easy to divide into portions and ensuring that they are always seasoned just right. We are constantly developing new dishes with various side dishes in response to customer requests.
